Refurbishment of heating center
The municipality of Biberach has successfully carried out a comprehensive refurbishment of the central heating system to ensure a sustainable heat supply for important educational institutions and the daycare center. The Malischule, the Maliturnhalle, the Wieland Gymnasium and the day care center are now supplied with efficient and environmentally friendly renewable heat via a district heating network.
The core components of the heating center include two wood pellet boilers from Fröhling. A wood pellet silo with a capacity of 60 m³ is available for storing and supplying the pellets.
In addition, two high-performance gas condensing boilers from Weishaupt were installed. The heating center is also supported by two combined heat and power units, each with a thermal output of 90 kW. This combination ensures a reliable and efficient heat supply for the connected buildings.
In order to store the generated heat effectively, a heating buffer storage tank with a volume of 100 m³ was connected to the central heating system. This measure enables optimum use of the energy generated and helps to optimize energy consumption.
Technical data at a glance:
- 2x 400 kW wood pellet boiler
- 2x 270 kW gas condensing boiler
- 2x CHP 90 kW thermal
With this forward-looking project, Biberach town council is sending out a clear signal for environmentally conscious energy supply and making a sustainable contribution to protecting our environment.
