The Alois Müller Group is further expanding its sustainability concept. In addition to the almost energy self-sufficient Green Factory 2.0, which is currently being built in Ungerhausen, the company is now also offering its employees the opportunity to travel CO2-neutral by electric car. The vehicle fleet has been expanded to include a BMW i3, which is powered 100 percent by solar energy from the company’s own roof.
“With the decision to use an electric car as a company vehicle, we want to set an example and actively contribute to the fact that electric vehicles will also experience a higher acceptance in everyday life. As an innovative company in the field of energy and building technology, it is only logical that we should also turn our attention to resource-saving and energy-efficient solutions in relation to our own fleet of vehicles. We want to give as many employees as possible the opportunity to get to know the vehicle and use it for trips between our locations,” says Managing Director Andreas Müller.
The necessary charging infrastructure for “refuelling” the vehicle is also already in place. On the company premises in Memmingen and Kempten, a normal charging station with 2 charging points each for simultaneous charging of two electric vehicles with a total output of 44 kW has been installed. At the Ungerhausen site, a total of 10 charging points with up to 150 kW have been created with two quick charging stations. This allows the battery of an e-vehicle to be recharged within 20 minutes.
The charging stations receive their energy from their own photovoltaic system and are therefore CO2-neutral in two respects. All e-charging stations are freely accessible and can be used by everyone. “Electric mobility is an important and future-oriented topic. The charging stations are located in the immediate vicinity of the A96 motorway and are therefore also attractive for all drivers of electric cars who travel on the motorway between Munich and Lindau”, Müller continues
In addition, under the leadership of the company Alois Müller and other partners, two further rapid charging stations with 10 parking spaces and a PV carport have just been built at Allgäu Airport, which are located less than 150 m from the terminal.
“The further development of electromobility is a forward-looking topic and requires a rethink and reorientation from all of us and at various levels. What’s more, electric vehicles can become a decisive component of the energy turnaround. For this very reason, it is important for us to act now as a competent and reliable partner in the field of integrated solutions for electric mobility and charging infrastructure for companies and municipalities,” explains Andreas Müller.
