The Construction Guild Augsburg has awarded Lucas Neumann from Memmingen as “apprentice of the month”. The 18-year-old is being trained as a tile, slab and mosaic layer at Raith Bad & Wärme GmbH, a subsidiary of the Alois Müller Group, in Ottobeuren in the second year of his apprenticeship. Now he can drive this speedy vehicle for one month free of charge.
Neumann has received the award for his excellent school performance, but he also masters his tasks confidently in the company: “Lucas is interested and motivated, has a quick mind and an eye for what needs to be done,” praises trainer Felix Kranz.
“Every day is exciting,” is how Lucas himself sums up his training day. “We lay tiles and slabs in kitchens and bathrooms, but also in laboratories or clinics. From advising the customer on which material and which look is suitable for him, to drawing up the laying plan, preparing the subfloor and actually laying the tiles – everything is great fun. If a room is to meet very special aesthetic requirements, artistic patterns can also be made from mosaic”.
Kranz added that the award of “Apprentice of the Month” was also intended to highlight the exemplary character of the young people. “It would be nice if this way an incentive could be created for others to start an apprenticeship in the trade.”
